Clay figurines in the GEM
In November, project members Georgia Long, Beatriz Noria-Serrano, and Gianluca Miniaci carried out documentation work on clay figurines at the newly inaugurated Grand Egyptian Museum. The museum houses an outstanding collection of female figurines, as well as some animal figurines, many of which were previously kept at the Egyptian Museum, Tahrir (Cairo). Study of clay figurines at the Museo Egizio, Torino
On 24 March, project members Georgia Long and Beatriz Noria-Serrano, together with Martina Naso (AUTOMATA Project, Pisa) analysed clay figurines of hippopotami, originally found by Ernesto Schiaparelli and now held in the collection of the Museo Egizio, Torino.
